Winstanley College
The brief
For decades, Winstanley College has worked closely with our furniture team, utilising our in-house furniture and design service when dealing with any refurbishments within the college. Following the refurbishment of Winstanley's Textiles and D&T rooms by YPO's Furniture and Design Service, the college approached us again to inquire about science lab refurbishments.
The challenge
The college's finance manager let us know that their science labs contained outdated furniture that required stripping out and replacing with more modern and practical furniture. Old flooring also needed to be uplifted, and brand-new flooring was required. Mechanic and electrical works surrounding the lab also needed to be maintained.
Our solution
To begin the project, a project manager from our dedicated Furniture and Design team visited the site to carry out a survey and meet with the finance manager to discuss the furniture requirements and plans for installation.
Having carried out the site survey, our team could then provide floor plans and drawings showing proposed furniture layouts. Regular meetings, including pre-start meetings, were held over Teams and in person at the college.
Once all the plans were signed off, our team could get started with the new refurbishment, working closely with our trusted contractors to get the job done.
The outcome
The science labs were successfully kitted out, following Winstanley's brief and requirements. This was achieved through regular site visits and consistent communication with the college, suppliers, and the installation team. The science labs had an updated look and feel and became a much more suitable learning environment for the educational subject.
