Brand new school fit out in Wales
School furnishings can have a significant impact on pupils’ learning and general wellbeing, so it does not come as a surprise that many schools take this aspect of design very seriously. Schools are under pressure to spend furnishing budgets wisely, whilst ensuring that furniture is of the highest quality by not simply buying the cheapest option.
However, selecting the right furniture can be challenging and expensive, especially when it is purchased for new build schools.
To this end, Aberdare Community School in Wales recently saw the completion of a brand new school and selecting the right furniture for staff and pupils was both a priority and a challenge.
YPO worked closely with the school to help them select products that matched their requirements and helped them create an environment that fostered efficient learning and teaching. YPO regularly met with the
Headteacher to discuss colour options and fabric choices to ensure maximum customer satisfaction.
The required products consisted of classroom furniture, breakout furniture, dining furniture, soft seating, library shelving, bespoke shop fitting and meeting pods. Dipping into its extensive range, YPO was able to offer a variety of suitable products to help achieve the client’s vision, whilst keeping to their budget.
Throughout the re-fit, YPO were available on-site to ensure that all items were installed correctly and the school was completely satisfied with the results.
Helen Evans, Corporate Estates at Aberdare, said: “Working with YPO was a highly positive experience. Due to a tight timetable, the construction of the school had not finished before furniture had to be moved into the school.
YPO was on-hand to assist with our project management from the start and helped us select a range of products to meet our design needs within the time frame to a very high standard.
