We operate under the aegis of the Local Authority (Goods and Services) Act 1970. As one of the UK's largest public sector buying organisations, we're governed by a management committee of elected representatives from our member authorities.
We're responsible for ensuring that our business is conducted in accordance with the law and proper standards, that public money is safeguarded and properly accounted for, and that these funds are used economically, efficiently and effectively. We're also responsible for putting in place proper arrangements for the governance of its affairs, facilitating the effective exercise of our functions which include arrangements for the management of risk.
In order to demonstrate good corporate governance, we've approved and adopted a Code of Corporate Governance.
