Father’s Day is the perfect chance to show some appreciation to fathers for their love, support and hard work over the year! There are many ways to celebrate this special day, but one of the best traditions is to create a handmade Father’s Day card or gift. We have picked out three easy and fun DIY Father’s Day card and gift ideas for your children to do. Let the fun begin!
Tie Card
This Father’s Day card craft is perfect for dads as it’s shaped like a wearable tie, and the colour and design can be customised however you like. It will definitely be his favourite keepsake!

What you'll need:
• Coloured Card (112712)
• Scissors (31336X)
• Washable PVA Glue (749125)
• Colouring pens (751014)
• Ready Mix Paint – Assorted Colours (713120)
• Paintbrush (73148X)
Optional:
• Hole Punch (763943)
• Elastic (427826) or Cotton String (718327)
• Acrylic gemstones (303870)
• Sequin Shapes (322377)
• Glitter Flakes – Assorted Colours (749265)
Instructions:
1. Fold an A4 piece of card in half lengthways.
2. Against the folded edge, draw and cut out a tie shape.
3. Decorate the front of the tie-shaped card as desired. Here are a few suggestions:
a. Glue on coloured sequin shapes to create a funky patterned tie.
b. Paint stripes on the tie.
c. Add drops of glue and sprinkle with glitter for a sparkly polka dot tie.
d. Use black card for the tie and draw on stars with a silver or gold pen.
4. Open the card and write your Father’s Day greeting!
Optional steps:
5. Add two small holes at the top of the card, on the back layer only.
6. Cut out a large piece of elastic (or string) and tie each side to the card.
Shirt and Jacket Card
Create your own mini shirt and jacket card that will definitely make the dads smile. It features a customisable bow tie, and you can also add a special Father’s Day message on the shirt for them to pull out.

What you’ll need:
• Coloured Card (112712)
• White Card (118117)
• Scissors (31336X)
• Glue Stick (716472)
• Colouring pens (751014)
• Buttons (301184)
Instructions:
1. Fold each side of the coloured card inwards until the edges overlap slightly in the centre.
2. On each side, fold the top corner of the card back on itself slightly to create the jacket collar.
3. Decorate the outside of the jacket with buttons.
4. Cut the white coloured card to the width of the folded card.
5. About an inch from the top of the card, cut a third of the way towards the centre from each side, leaving the middle attached.
6. Fold the strips inwards so they overlap and trim to make a collar.
7. Write your Father’s Day message on the bottom of the white card.
8. Slide the white card into the coloured card to complete the Father’s Day shirt and jacket card design.
Flashlight Craft
Create a unique Father’s Day gift idea with this creative flashlight craft. This Father’s Day craft idea will light up their faces with joy as they use the coloured torch to reveal the secret message. You can also personalise your flashlight card with messages or illustrations of your choice.

What you'll need:

Instructions
1. Slide A4 paper with design into the wallet and trace the design with a black marker on top of the wallet.
2. Slide the A4 black card into the wallet.
3. Draw and then cut out the shape out a torch.
4. Cut the yellow card into a big triangle and glue it to the back of the torch.
5. Slide in the finished torch and demonstrate you can see the design.
