Bunnies, baskets and bouquets. Easter is one of our favourite holidays to celebrate (and it's not just because of the chocolate eggs!). This time of the year brings lots of opportunities for schools and nurseries to let children embrace their creativity and imagination by getting their crafting hats on. It's also a great time to let children create personalised gifts to bring home to loved ones.
So without further ado, here are ten eggcellent Easter craft activities for children you might like to try this year.
Easter Bunny's Cottage
We love the idea that the Easter Bunny's house has a pair of ears! Prompt children to cut out their house, windows and door from their chosen coloured card and then leave them to bring out their personalities and make their cottage exactly how they would imagine it.
What you'll need:
Painted Rocks
There's something so satisfying about painting rocks, and it's a great way to incorporate nature into your Easter crafts! Give children some inspiration by painting example rocks first and let them choose between recreating the rocks or creating their own.
What you'll need:
Craft Roll Bunny
If you love crafting with recycled materials, craft rolls are a staple for arts and crafts activities and are super quick and easy to do if you already have some lying around.
What you'll need:
Lollipop Stick Baskets
Although this idea seems a bit more complicated, it's as simple as painting lollipop sticks, sticking them together and adding decorations! We love how effective these look.
What you'll need:
Egg on a Peg
Children will love creating their eggy pegs and playing with them afterwards, making their little chick pop out as they move their pegs. Double the fun!
What you'll need:
Paper Plate Bunny
Another crafting staple - paper plates! We just can't get enough of these types of crafts. They're super easy to recreate and so versatile.
What you'll need:
Chicks on Sticks
This is a great way to include cutouts of those little hands in your Easter crafts. There are so many different ways you can personalise this to suit the key stage group.
What you'll need:
Egg Threading
A different type of craft. For the little ones, threading is a great way to build on those essential fine motor skills.
What you'll need:
Chick Fork Painting
DIY paintbrushes are the best! This is a different take on a traditional painting activity and definitely looks like a lot of fun.
What you'll need:
Sun Catcher Eggs
Last but not least. Cut out various shapes in different colours using tissue paper and stick them onto some tracing paper. Laminate (if you wish), attach a string, hang them onto the windowsill, and watch those sun rays shine in!
