Fun Halloween activities for early years pupils

From sensory and messy play to arts and crafts, we’ve got some exciting early years inspired activities for you to try all in the name of Halloween!

Hand Printed Ghosts

A super simple but fun arts and crafts idea for younger children – encourage them to use their hands to create ghost prints to take home or use them to decorate your setting.

Extend this activity to create different characters. You could use a fist to create pumpkins or fingers to create bats and spiders – the possibilities are endless!

What you’ll need:

I’m a Skeleton

Skeleton cotton bud Halloween activity

Something for the older children! Use PVA and cotton buds to create a skeleton craft. This will really get them thinking about the different bones in their body. To make this even more engaging, print and cut out head shots of the children, this will also give them a good place to start from the head down.

What you’ll need:

Washable PVA (713422)

Cotton Buds

Tissue Paper Pumpkin

A great craft idea that gives children a valuable fine motor workout! Print or draw a pumpkin outline that children can then decorate with scrunched up tissue paper stuck with PVA.

Super Stretchy DIY Slime

This super stretchy slime only takes minutes to prepare but will entertain your little learners for hours on end.

Create the slime by putting PVA in a bowl. Add the slime activator bit by bit until you have the right consistency and add sequin shapes, wiggly eyes, or anything else you can find!
