Valentine's season is the perfect opportunity for children to get creative and enjoy spreading some kindness. For inspiration, we have put together some fun Valentine's Day card ideas for children to try. Once made, children will love gifting their special handmade Valentine's Day card to a friend or family member of their choice!
Marble Hearts Valentine's Day Card
Create fun and simple marble hearts for the Valentine's season. Use them to make colourful handmade Valentine's Day cards or use them to decorate your classroom.

What you’ll need:
Instructions:
- Fold your coloured card in half, ready for decorating.
- Cut out several heart shapes, small enough to fit on your handmade card.
- Put crazy soap, or shaving foam, into a bowl.
- Pour a selection of different coloured paint on top on the foam.
- Lightly drag your heart shapes through the mixture so some of the paint and foam transfers onto the heart.
- Carefully scrape off the excess foam and allow the hearts to dry.
- Glue the hearts onto the front of your card.
- Add your greeting and deliver!
Valentine's Day Bee
A fun Valentine's Day card with a minibeast twist! Use some love (hearts) and a bit of decoration to create this adorable Valentine's Day bee.

What you’ll need:
Instructions:
- Fold a piece of white card in half, ready for decorating.
- Cut out 5 similarly sized hearts, 3 using yellow card, 2 using black card.
- Cut 1 smaller heart shape using black card.
- Glue each heart onto the white card. To create the bee shape, overlap each heart slightly and alternate colour, starting with yellow and eventually ending with the smallest black heart shape for the stinger.
- Glue googly eyes to the top of the bee.
- Cut two large heart shapes for the wings and glue in place.
- Twist each end of a pipe cleaner to add heart shaped antenna.
- Add felt flowers for extra decoration!
Valentine's Letter
Wow your class with this creative Valentine's craft where the card and envelope are one in the same! This is the perfect Valentine's activity for little ones to practice their fine motor skills.
What you’ll need:
Instructions:
- Cut a large symmetrical heart shape out of paper.
- Write your greeting in the Valentine's letter.
- Fold each side at the top of the heart inwards so the outer edges of the heart just touch at the centre.
- Fold the point of the heart upwards until the bottom edge makes a straight line.
- Fold the top of the heart shape down so the top edge makes a straight line.
- Slot the bottom of the heart shape into the top of the heart shape. This will secure your envelope in place.
- Thread a button into the centre of a piece of ribbon.
- Wrap the ribbon around the Valentine's letter and tie in place.
Valentine's Heart Stamp
Drawing Valentine's hearts can be tricky at times! Turning craft rolls into heart-shaped stamps can be a quick and easy way to create super fun Valentine's Day card designs. Recreate the design below, or experiment with your own ideas.

- Fold a piece of coloured card or paper in half.
- Press the top of a paper roll inwards so it bends to create a heart shape stamp.
- Dip the paper roll heart stamp into paint
- Stamp onto your handmade card.
- Colour a plant pot and stems from each heart, or experiment with other designs!
