The spooky season is upon us! These Halloween display ideas will bring your classroom back to life at the spookiest time of the year. From cobwebs to vibrant pumpkin patches, your classroom will be the scariest in the whole school!
Tissue paper ghosts
These easy-to-make tissue paper ghosts will take your classroom display to the next level, whilst simple your ghosts will captivate your children’s' imaginations. If you don't have a traditional display board, you can even turn them into bunting.
What you’ll need

Thin white cotton string (718289)
- Black poster paper roll (113417)
- YPO tissue paper, White (117382)
- Scissors
- Glue
Instructions
- Line your board with black paper.
- Layer up your white tissue paper and cut out your ghost shapes.
- Cut out your eyes and mouth using black paper and stick them to the top layer of your ghost.
- Peirce a small hole in the top of your ghost and thread the string through.
- Cut to your desired length and attach to your board.
- Repeat until you have the desired number of ghosts.
Cobweb with spiders
Decorate your classroom display with creepy cobwebs and spooky spiders with this easy-to-create setup that is low cost but highly effective!
What you’ll need

- Spider craft kit (138894)
- Poster paper colour & border of your choice
- Pencil
Instructions
- Spooky coloured backdrop & border of your choice,
- Draw out your spider web design with a pencil
- Place the string over your drawing and secure it to board.
- Make your spiders with our spider kit, & attach them to your web
Pumpkin patch
Showcase your children’s creative flair by featuring their artwork on this fantastic pumpkin patch display board, making it an unforgettable addition to your classroom's Halloween decor.
What you’ll need:

Pumpkin decorative cut outs (135109)
- Poster paper roll- chocolate brown (119618)
- Black poster paper roll (113417)
- Poster Paper Roll – Orange (113433)
- Poster paper roll- Mocha (119616)
- Pens and paint to decorate your pumpkins.
Instructions
- Hand out the pumpkin shapes for your class to decorate
- Line the bottom 1/3 of the board with black paper and the top 2/3rds with orange.
- Take long strips of your brown and mocha poster paper and twist them.
- Pin these twists to the center of your board vertically to start your tree. Continue to build this out, adding more twists in the two colours.
- Add your class's pumpkin masterpieces along the bottom 1/3 of the board to fill your pumpkin patch!
- Feel free to add some black bats to your orange sky using the black paper.
Scary mummy
If you're short on time but eager to make an impact, turning your classroom display board into a magnificent mummy is the perfect solution.
What you’ll need

Black poster paper roll (113417)
- YPO tissue paper, White (117382)
- 7” white round paper plate (307123)
- Scissors
- Glue
Instructions
- Use black to base your board.
- Cut out two black round shapes and glue to the two paper plates as eyeballs.
- Secure your plate eyeballs to the middle of your board.
- Cut long strips of white tissue paper.
- Staple them to your board, crossing over each other. Make sure to leave a slight gap in the middle for your mummy to see!
Haunted house
Set the scene this Halloween with a captivating, haunted house display board to get everyone in the Halloween spirit! Encourage children to design their own bats and ghosts for the display.
What you’ll need

Purple poster paper roll (113476)
- Black poster paper roll (113417)
- Poster paper roll- Orange (113433)
- Scissors
Instructions
- Line the top ¾ of your board with purple paper and the bottom ¼ with black paper.
- Cut squares, rectangles, and triangles out of black card
- Pin on the board to construct a “haunted house” shape.
- Add small orange squares of paper to your haunted house for windows.
- Cut out bat shapes from the black card and position them above the house on the purple section.
- To make it spookier cut out small ghost shapes from white paper and pin them across the purple section
