PRESS RELEASE
YPO, one of the UK’s largest public sector buying organisations, has announced the launch of a new ICT Managed Service for Education and WPS framework for schools and public sector organisations.
As YPO’s first education framework to consist of a single supplier, the framework has been created to offer a full range of technology services.
The framework will provide schools and public sector establishments across the UK with a pre-approved, complete one-stop-shop from Capita to support all current and future technology needs. This covers sourcing, procurement, management, installation and maintenance across a range of IT, network, telecommunications and software services.
Larger entities such as multi-academy trusts will benefit from less duplication and ultimately reduce waste, save costs and increase efficiency through using the framework. In addition, by providing quick access to technology services and support, the framework will reduce the time spent procuring services which can be redirected to other areas, a key consideration for schools during this time when large numbers of staff and pupils are working off-site.
Robyn Lamport-Rann, Category Buyer for ICT, YPO, said; “Together with Capita, we will be able to successfully deliver technology strategies that will equip schools with the best IT support in these difficult times and for the future. In the current climate, the framework will ensure that schools and universities are supported to prioritise the wellbeing of the communities they serve, whilst enabling learning to continue wherever possible.”
Mark Cook, executive officer of Capita’s Technology Solutions division, said; “YPO’s new ICT Managed Service for Education and WPS framework will enable Capita to bring together our offerings and provide the best IT packages to the education sector. As a single supplier, we will be able to design and deliver cost-effective technology services that will help enhance learning for children across the country.”
