This year marks 50 years of YPO providing better value for money to our customers. We’ve evolved from providing affordable school supplies to illuminating streets through electricity contracts. To celebrate this milestone throughout the year, we’ll be recognising our achievements and running events and competitions you can get involved in.

To make sure we’re here for another 50 years, we’re committed to reducing our carbon emissions by 50% by 2030 and we’re digitally transforming the way we do business.

It started with collaboration

In 1974, 13 local authorities joined forces to transform public procurement. This innovative step marked the birth of YPO as we know it today!

Our people and communities

For five decades, we’ve put our people and communities at the heart of everything we do. We’ve employed over 100 apprentices and donated to charities across the UK.

Our first sustainable event - Supplier Conference

What a day! In March, we welcomed over 100 attendees to our supplier conference, in what was our first ever sustainable event. Held at The LIFE Centre in Bradford, our suppliers joined us for a day of celebration, business updates and engagement opportunities.

Join in the Craftathon!

As part of the celebrations for YPO turning 50, we’ve teamed up with our partners at the NSPCC to create a Chat and Craft resource, to help young people to get in touch with their feelings, and help them to express and understand these using simple and easy to do crafts.

To get involved, download the fantastic PDF - you can print it off as many times as you like. The competition featured in the booklet is now closed, but we’ve had feedback from schools and parents telling us how helpful the booklet has been in supporting conversations about feelings.
