This Edding Fineliner is designed for everyday writing and drawing on paper surfaces where precision and finer lines are required for the sake of clarity and professionalism. Suitable for general use in schools, offices and the home, this versatile fineliner – despite being Edding’s entry level option – is of the highest quality, featuring a fine 0.4mm round plastic nib and odourless water-based ink.

Water-Based Ink
Water-based ink looks better than alternatives as it deeply penetrates the paper for a permanent natural, professional look. It also allows the ink to appear blacker, helping drawings, text and outlines stand out amongst other colours and against the white of the page.

Compared to those made with chemicals, water-based ink is healthier and much more pleasant to work with. It is neutral in odour, lightfast to extend the lifespan of your artwork, won’t irritate your skin, and is easily washable from skin as well as textiles at 40°C.

Unlike many water-based inks however, Edding’s special ink formulation dries quickly, doesn’t bleed through paper, and flows reliably from the pen for a stress-free experience.

Fine, Round Nib
The 0.4mm stroke width is the ideal middle ground for general use where the pen needs to alternate between writing and drawing. The round, soft plastic nib is designed to generate a reliable, smooth stroke every time, with ink flowing at the slightest touch for effortless use over long periods. This is perfect for schoolchildren, artists and office workers writing or drawing for hours at a time and suffering from tired hands that slow them down.

Plastic nibs are also stronger than fibre tips seen in other pens, making lines more accurate where precision is paramount. They will also not splay or break under pressure for those with a heavier hand.

In schools, fineliners are better suited to older children who have experience with drawing, and are unlikely to make mistakes with the easy-flowing ink.

Body
Physically, the Edding Fineliner is designed for high convenience to those with busy working lives. The clip on the pen lid prevents it from rolling away and getting lost, and can be used to secure to clothes or objects for easy transportation. When working, the lid will tightly attach to the end of the pen to also prevent loss.

The cylindrical barrel facilitates controlled lines no matter how you hold your pen, and feels natural in your hand with its lightweight, soft body. Whether you are drawing, sketching, writing or taking quick notes, the Edding Fineliner is a staple of precision.
