YPO has bolstered its governance structure with the appointment of Jon Towler as independent director.
Jon Towler brings over 20 years management experience in both public and private sector organisations, in roles spanning international sales management, to chair and non-executive director across several health and NHS bodies.
Incorporating sales, marketing, operations and logistics, HR and organisational development, he was part of the management team which led an £85m management buyout exiting less than three years later with almost double the enterprise value. Jon graduated from Reims Business School with a double degree in International Business Administration.
Jon has been involved with the public sector for more than 10 years, chairing both NHS Nottinghamshire County and the East Midlands Ambulance Service. Since 2015, Jon has been working in a non-executive capacity for multiple Clinical Commissioning Groups and, from April 2020, has taken up the role of non-executive chair of the governing body for Nottingham and Nottinghamshire CCG.
Jon also currently serves as vice chair of the local Integrated Care System Board, which brings together health and social care organisations.
In his role as independent director, Jon will support the leadership team to implement the organisation’s growth plans, ensuring the organisation remains best placed to continue delivering cost savings and value to the public sector.
Jon said: “Now more than ever, the public sector has to pull together to serve our communities - YPO is an organisation that can facilitate positive change through innovative and reliable collaborations with its local authority customers and valued suppliers.
“I am very much looking forward to working closely with the team to support customers through these unprecedented times and work with YPO to remain best in class in all that it does.”
YPO’s managing director Simon Hill, said: “Jon brings a wealth of valuable knowledge and we’re sure that his experience will make him a great asset to our senior team. In 46 years of business, YPO’s ethos remains the same – to provide great value to the public sector. We believe Jon’s appointment optimises this aim and our ambitious future growth plans.”
