As public sector organisations start to look toward the future of public procurement under the Procurement Act 2023, it’s important to remember that procurement has more than a single stakeholder group. Suppliers to the public sector, may be at particular risk of losing out if they’re not aware of what the changes may mean for them.
We're really pleased then to see that the Cabinet Office is looking to provide a full webinar update on the reform for stakeholders across the spectrum, hosted by Lindsay Maguire, Deputy Director for Procurement Reform.
The webinar will cover:
• Update on key Transforming Public Procurement programme milestones
• The Learning and Development offer
• Progress of the Central Digital Platform
• Overview of the Procurement Review Unit
• Key points to note about transition
• What to expect over the next 6 months
• How to prepare for the changes to come
There may also be opportunities to ask questions too, and the session should prove extremely informative and interesting for those who need to understand what changes are coming but may still lack some of the detail.
The Cabinet Office is offering three separate sessions, but they do seem to be limiting availability so its important that you register as soon as possible to avoid disappointment and also attend the event, so as to not prevent access to the opportunity for others.
The Cabinet Office has indicated that once you registered and a place on the session is secured, you will receive confirmation and a link to join the event on the date and time that you have selected.
To register for one of the events, links have been provided below:
Wednesday 15 May from 10am to 11am
Tuesday 21 May from 11.30am to 12.30pm
Friday 24 May from 2pm to 3pm
Within the update, the Cabinet Office has also reminded stakeholders that you can find out more information about the reform by visiting its landing page and viewing the Knowledge Drops, which are short 10 minute videos explaining what the reform is and how it works which may help in advance of the webinar.
Finally, you can also sign up to the Cabinet Officer “Transforming Public Procurement” updates directly too if you’d like direct news from the Cabinet Office themselves.
We hope to see you on a webinar soon!
