Our Energy team were award winners at the prestigious Energy Live Consultancy Awards (TELCA) 2016 held in London last week.
The Energy Live Consultancy Awards event is the energy sector’s equivalent to the Oscars and gives recognition to energy suppliers and brokers who go the extra mile to provide a great service for their customers. Held at the spectacular Honourable Artillery Company in the heart of London on 30th June, the invitations clearly stated “Dresscode : Summer Party” . This caused great deliberation and debate for YPO’s Energy Team, not least for the gentlemen who were unsure whether to position themselves at the “Bermuda shorts/swimwear” or “boater jacket” ends of the spectrum. We ended up (thankfully for the citizens of London!) agreeing somewhere in the middle, as you can see from our team picture below:
The YPO Energy Team went to the event hopeful of course to win an award but conscious that there was a wealth of quality competition; more than 560 people attended and we were just so very grateful to have been shortlisted. Simply being nominated and shortlisted was quite an amazing achievement really, considering that we were the only shortlisted organisation from the public sector.
I’m sure that those of you that follow @ypoprocurement on twitter will have watched the evening’s events unfold with anticipation as the award updates were tweeted live by Anna from YPO’s marketing team. We were incredibly shocked and thrilled in equal measures when the first award of the evening was announced, “the TELCA for Best Customer Service goes to…. YPO!!!”. A fantastic accolade for YPO and the public sector as a whole, as we beat off tough competition from commercial energy brokers.
YPO takes great satisfaction in winning the customer service award, especially as we are very conscious of the supplier difficulties that some of our gas customers have faced over the past 20 months. Hopefully this award is testament to the fact we have been open and honest with customers, and we have never avoided the hard conversations with suppliers on our customers’ behalf. We have demonstrated how we face issues head-on to ensure the best possible outcome for all our customers and will always continue to do so. We truly appreciate all our customers and the support they show us as a team. The differing personalities amongst our customer base makes the job so rewarding and we try our utmost to ensure we deliver the very best for you.
The second category award of particular interest to YPO was to recognise an ’Industry Expert’. This was an individual award to celebrate knowledge, motivation, innovation and expertise across all things energy. We were all thrilled and delighted for our very own Georgina “George” Penfold who took this award, again facing stiff competition from a group of talented people across the sector. Well done, George – a thoroughly deserved recognition as her passion and expertise in the energy sector is obvious to all who work with her.
