How long have you been working at YPO: Since August 2018
What do you like most about working at YPO?
I have been working at YPO for nearly three years now, and during my time here I have enjoyed every minute. One of the reasons why I like working here is that YPO provides staff with excellent opportunities to progress their careers.
What are your main responsibilities?
My main responsibilities are to provide regular assistance and support to our customers regarding quotations for our Gas and Electricity frameworks, as well as ensuring the liquid fuels pricing is updated and sent out on a weekly basis. My other duties consist of assisting the Further Competition Co-ordinator and the team with any administrative and technical support.
What is the most challenging part of your job?
I joined the energy team in November 2020, the biggest challenge for me has been starting a new role during the pandemic whilst working from home. Also learning about the energy industry and gaining knowledge in this area has been a challenge, as this is completely different from anything that I have done previously.
Describe your role in three words: Challenging, Rewarding, Interesting
How did you get involved in procurement?
I started my career at YPO in 2018 through a local recruitment agency, working in the sales team at YPO. I really enjoyed my two years working within that team, but in November 2020 it was time to make the next step in my career as a procurement assistant in the energy procurement team.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I like to go and watch my local team Ossett United (try and avoid relegation to the 9th league tier), but COVID has stopped that unfortunately (watching, not relegation!). I also like to watch Liverpool, but not so much this season!
On a weekend I really enjoy family days out exploring new places, using my National Trust membership to explore great places such as Nostell Priory and Bolton Abbey.
