What do you like most about working at YPO?
Despite starting a new role in the middle of a pandemic, I am really enjoying my time at YPO and love how friendly and welcoming everyone is. I love that YPO are a caring and transparent organisation who give back to the public sector and put their customers and staff at the heart of everything they do.
What are your main responsibilities in the trading services team?
As an Assistant Buyer of Furniture my main responsibilities include supporting the Category Buyer with any day-to-day team queries and operational tasks, in addition to managing relations with suppliers. I also assist in analysing the performance of all our products whilst looking for any gaps in the market to supply to our customers through our catalogue, frameworks and tenders.
What is the most rewarding part of your job?
I’m passionate about helping our customers achieve great value for money through sourcing innovative, compliant products perfect for any setting. I’m proud to be part of a team that’s focussed on meeting all requirements of public sector and education clients so that they can continue to deliver great services central to our society as a whole.
I find it incredibly rewarding assisting our customers and love engaging with suppliers as their first point of call.
Describe your role in three words: Exciting, challenging and rewarding!
How did you get involved in procurement?
I recently joined YPO as an Assistant Buyer after working in the private sector in previous buying and procurement roles.
My next goal in my procurement career is to achieve my CIPS qualification which I am currently also studying towards as part of a master’s degree outside of work.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
As I am not a native to Yorkshire being a Mancunian, in my spare time I enjoy going on long walks and exploring the beautiful countryside and cities Yorkshire has to offer. I also enjoy spending time with friends and family, and recently took up yoga!
