1. Stand out from the crowd
It’s easy to shop online for a Christmas jumper, but it’s much more fun to make your own. Plus, you can guarantee no one else will be wearing your original masterpiece!
2. Let your creative juices flow
Whether you’re an arts & crafts master, or it’s just not your thing, designing your own jumper and adding fun colours and decorations can help bring out your creative side, even if you don’t think you have one!
3. Help the environment
Why buy something brand new when you could use any old jumper/hoodie you have laying around? Repurposing clothes not only reduces waste, but it also reduces harmful gas that is released into the atmosphere during the delivery process.
4. Raise money for charity
Christmas Jumper Day takes place on 10 December this year, and it’s a fantastic opportunity for your educational establishment to raise funds for the Save the Children charity. Ask staff and pupils to arrive in a Christmas jumper and contribute £1/£2 to go towards the charity. You could even run a competition and award the person wearing the best jumper with some goodies!
5. Get into the festive spirit
Making your own Christmas jumper is a great way to get excited for the big day, and it’s also a fun activity idea to do with children. Check out our video below for some design inspiration to help you get started.
