E.coli contamination
We’re aware of the recent product recalls due to a potential E.coli contamination, specifically related to the supply of pre-made sandwiches. We’re working closely with all of our sandwich providers across our DPS 985 and have identified there are no affected customers through our agreements at this time. There is one provider on our DPS that is impacted, however there are currently no customers using this provider through YPO.
We’re proactively contacting our customers to make them aware of this situation, however as previously mentioned, it does not relate to the suppliers they buy sandwiches from.
We’re here to support you with any guidance you might need. Please email [email protected] or [email protected]. who will be more than happy to help.

Procurement support for failing concrete in schools
We’ve almost 50 years’ experience in helping the public sector achieve the best possible value when buying products and services and we’re here to help you navigate the latest news about RAAC concrete affecting school buildings and how we can help you.
Currently, more than 150 schools in England have been identified as having a type of potentially dangerous concrete (RAAC) with many schools now closing buildings or classrooms to make them safe.
What is RAAC?
Reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete (RAAC) is a lightweight, aerated ‘bubbly’ form of concrete predominately used in the construction of public buildings from the 1950s to the early 1990s. It was mostly in flat roofing, but it can occasionally be found in floors and walls. RACC panels are usually 600mm wide and 2.4m long with a slight right-angled edge at each end often arch-shaped stripes. The surface is slightly crumbly when touched and easy to make a hole with a screwdriver.
The problems with RAAC have been known for the last 30 years but this concrete has made the news again due to new guidance that was issued in 2021 and 2022 about how to manage RAAC. The DfE sent out a questionnaire last year asking schools to provide information about the use of RAAC in schools across the country.
