Wakefield Foundation Partnership

YPO is proud to partner with Wakefield Trinity Community Foundation as a Principal Inclusion Rugby League Partner. Through the partnership, YPO-branded equipment will be provided to SEND schools across the Wakefield district, helping to support the delivery of free Rugby League and multi-sport taster sessions.

Together, we're helping to break down barriers to participation by creating more opportunities for young people with learning disabilities, physical disabilities and additional needs to access inclusive sport, develop new skills and build confidence through physical activity.

By investing in both equipment and opportunities, the partnership aims to create a lasting Rugby League legacy and encourage greater participation in inclusive sport across local communities.

Wakefield Trinity and YPO support SEND schools

Wakefield Trinity Community Foundation and public sector buying organisation YPO recently supported SEND schools in West Yorkshire by delivering free sports equipment. Schools received dual-branded Wakefield Trinity and YPO rugby balls and sports bibs, which were launched as part of YPO's ongoing role as the Foundation's inclusion partner. Six SEND schools received a total of ten rugby balls and ten sports bibs each.

YPO and Trinity launch joint equipment

Wakefield Trinity RLFC and Wakefield-based public sector buying organisation YPO have recently unveiled a new dual-branded Rugby League equipment range. The launch of this new kit forms part of YPO’s role as Principal Inclusion Rugby League Partner and supports the Foundation’s four-figure partnership programme. The Community Foundation, with YPO’s support, provides free Rugby League and multi-sports taster sessions to Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) schools across the Wakefield district.

Jack Pemberton, Social and Inclusion Manager at Wakefield Trinity Community Foundation, commented: “It was great to collaborate with YPO on the sports equipment deliveries to SEND schools. The foundation is dedicated to growing all-inclusive sports, not just rugby league, engaging schools and creating clear pathways for students to take part in inclusive sport.

"The support we get from YPO allows us to do this on a larger scale, reaching more young people and providing more resources. The equipment will have a lasting impact within the schools and help ensure students can continue participating in sport long after our delivery blocks have finished."
