Helping SMEs and VCSEs to access and grow in the public sector

The Go4Growth Programme is a free service for small business enterprise (SME), voluntary organisations, community groups and social enterprises (VCSE) The programmes core purpose is to help smaller organisations capable of working with the public sector develop the skills and confidence to grow their business. Go4Growth helps organisations in a number of ways, including through a self-service software platform, to provide access to tools, support, training and guidance to help SMEs/VCSEs develop the practical skills needed to win work in the public sector. The programme aims to help businesses identify the barriers to either entry to the public sector or growth within the sector and then give the help required to overcome those barriers. We also analyse and anonymise that information and return it to our public sector partners so that this can be factored in to front end market development and planning in procurement & commissioning.

As part of our partnership with Go4Growth, we conducted a report into public sector attitudes to working with SME suppliers. By gathering results from over 100 unique individuals at over 100 unique organisations, we discovered the key trends in SME engagement within public sector procurement. The programme aims to be accessible to all and we encourage anyone with any additional access needs that we aren’t currently meeting to chat to us. Our website has accessibility widgets. We are looking at building a knowledge transfer environment that will host learning & development opportunities (CPD accredited courses) and also access to all our materials free of charge through a basic registration process.
