Tall tray storage units are the ultimate solution for classroom storage and organisation. Thanks to their simple operation, durability and colour-coded personalisation, it is no surprise that they have become a timeless staple in classrooms across the country.

Design
The design features 60 shallow trays spread across the three columns, ideal for the storage of paper, books and smaller stationery items. A unit of this size is perfect for use by teachers, and particularly those who wish to archive files, are highly organised, have excess resources, or wish to assign a tray per pupil or staff member. Tall tray units also save money and space in smaller classrooms compared to alternatives with the same number of trays.

The design incorporates high quality lockable doors with anti-finger trap hinges and robust, nickel-plated metal handles. With lockable doors, it is possible to limit access only to those with a key, keeping contents such as answer sheets or sensitive personal information protected from unauthorised use. The doors also provide a protective barrier against spillages, dust and dirt.

The unit itself is static for permanent status and safe usage in any environment.

Metroplan units can be fully customised with the option to mix and match trays (on request). You can choose any combination of tray colours you like, whether as a visual aid, to match a colour scheme, or simply make a classroom more exciting. Edges are colour matched with the units for a guaranteed contemporary design.

Construction
This unit is constructed using 18mm thick melamine faced chipboard (MFC); a classroom favourite that assures high-level strength and durability with frequent, heavy use. To complement this is the use of 2mm ABS edges; smooth to the touch, and as attractive as they are protective to both the user and the unit itself. In fact, ABS edges completely eliminate the risk of splinters and scratches to the skin, and protect the MFC against chipping for a full and satisfying lifespan.

The trays provided are manufactured by Gratnells, one of the top education storage specialists in the UK, and the go-to tray provider for the majority of schools. Their popularity can be attributed to the super-strong polypropylene construction that ensures a lifetime of use at an affordable price. The trays are also compatible with many other furniture items to enable future upcycling.
