A 2-in-1 tray/shelf cupboard unit is an extremely practical storage solution that keeps contents private, safe and protected in any classroom. Use the convenient combination of storage types so stationery, books and other learning resources are kept organised and in one place. The height of this unit allows primary school aged children to reach each compartment without difficulty, unlike taller tray/shelf cupboards.

Design
The economical 2-in-1 design is comprised of a single tray column of 7 trays, and a shelving column with 3 tiers, including 2 adjustable shelves. These are adjustable in order to accommodate larger items, and are useful for storing books, files, and classroom equipment. On the other side, the tray column is ideal for the storage of paper, exercise books, stationery and other small and easy to lose items. The trays can be assigned based on theme, subject or pupil for easy navigation. Combining these popular classroom essentials in one unit helps to not only save money, but to keep related items together to reduce confusion when rearranging furniture.

The lockable doors incorporated into the design make it possible to store books, files and other resources in a way that is accessible only to those with a key, keeping the contents protected from unauthorised use. Unsafe substances and specialist equipment such as those used in science labs can be kept safe for greater peace of mind, as well as answer sheets or stationery that is at risk of being used without permission. The doors also hide the contents to limit distractions, and provide a protective barrier against spillages in art and science classrooms.

The unit itself is beech coloured with dark brown edging, and features rich blue doors with matching blue trays to make any classroom appear stylish, homely and welcoming. The unit is also mobile, and supplied with castors to allow movement between classrooms or for easily storing out of the way when not in use.

Construction
The unit is constructed using 18mm thick melamine faced chipboard (MFC), a common material in classrooms due to its strength and durability under frequent handling. This is supplemented with a protective laminated finish and 2mm thick ABS edging tape to create a smooth edge and prevent chipping. The supplied Monarch trays are made from super-strong polypropylene to ensure a lifetime of use for an affordable price. The durable construction of this product allows us to proudly offer a 25 year guarantee on all units in this range, so your school can use its tight budget wisely. The MFC used in this product is FSC certified.
