What is Rapesco 923? 923 is a type of staple by Rapesco that is specially made for heavy duty staplers. This means they will cleanly penetrate paper with minimal effort and remain strong under the greater force of a heavy-duty stapler.
This is thanks in part to the chisel point, which is V shaped to enable easier insertion when working with thicker materials and larger stacks of paper.
Galvanised Steel Rapesco make sure to use the highest quality steel wire with a galvanised finish, meaning each staple has been coated with zinc for maximum durability. Galvanised steel staples are better able to cope with general corrosion, and will keep pages tightly together even when handled over time. For long-term applications or those travelling with documents, such durability is essential, and it is for these reasons that galvanised staples are the most common for all-round use.
Size and Type Guide 23 Type refers to the gauge of the wire, or the staple thickness. Staples of this type are best suited to delicate applications or thin materials, including general office use, paper sheets, furniture or automotive upholstery, vinyl flooring and picture frames. Considered a ‘fine wire’ staple, the 23 type is also ideal for keeping staples discreet with low visibility and no exposure at the back – perfect for that professional touch!
Finally, the millimetre measurement refers to the leg length, and should be chosen based on the thickness of the material you will be stapling. A variety of staples of 8, 10, 12 and 13mm is a great choice for varied environments such as offices or schools where different sizes of document or even different materials will need to be stapled.
8mm staples are suitable for 50 page documents, whereas 13mm staples can hold approximately 100 pages strongly – more than enough for any document, report, or homework activity book. For anything else, the general rule is that the leg length should be around 3 times the thickness of the material being stapled, so a variety of options is preferable to be on the safe side during your creative projects.
