Ring binders are a popular classic as they are the simplest and cheapest way to organise files and keep them safe. These particular ring binders can hold up to 25mm worth of A4 sheets which are held in place using the 4 ring ‘D’ mechanism. They are ideal for children who need to store schoolwork or drawings for example, or adults who don’t need too much space. Ring binders are recommended for storage as opposed to transporting files, although they are extremely durable in construction.

The 4 ring 'D' mechanism differs from the traditional 2 ring 'O' mechanism by adding extra stability. Your files are less likely to fall out when being transported, or have the holes of the paper or plastic wallets ripped when in the binder. The D shape of the rings also enables paper to remain stacked to prevent the misalignment that causes this issue. With O rings, paper does not stack as vertically, causing the binder to appear misshapen, overfilled, and unprofessional – if you are looking to make an impression in an office, with clients, or simply don’t like the way paper holds in O rings, this binder is for you. These D shapes are also common in lever arch files, but within a ring binder can provide the same benefit whilst saving money and space. Without the lever arch mechanism, it is also much easier to quickly flick through the paper within, making these folders ideal for presentations or handing out in seminars and meetings. A small added cost for these features can save a presentation or important proposal from appearing sloppy, unrehearsed and unprofessional, and is a bestselling item as a result.

Although budget priced, the board and polypropylene cover material are extremely hardwearing and able to withstand regular handling whilst protecting the documents inside from dirt, dust and spillages. The covering also offers a pleasing and stylish aesthetic with its eye-catching subtle glossy finish. Polypropylene on board is not as eco-friendly as paper on board alternatives but is a great material for increasing durability and water resistance to protect your files in a variety of environments over a long period of time. This material simply wipes clean and is therefore great for those who store their files in areas where spills and dirt are more likely. They are also better for kids who may drop paint or food on the binders.

Each file can also be labelled with names, titles, dates and other information using the label on the spine of the file to assist you in locating documents. For a classic, strong 4 ring binder that does the job in the home or workplace, this is best option on the market.

Recycling Information: Remove steel mechanism before recycling. Recycle steel and board separately.
