Adapt the classic classroom NP chair to your space with the swivel base! With height adjustment, smooth movement and 360° rotation, users can benefit from the same posture support and comfort of a standard NP chair in more specialist environments. Use this taller chair in admin offices or IT rooms for secondary school children for a stylish, fun and functional choice that won’t break the bank.

Design
Each chair is adjustable from a seat height of 420-480mm, making them ideal for adults and children aged 11+. This is not only useful in shared spaces where different year groups will work and multiple individuals will use the same chair, but also to account for those taller or shorter than average. As no individual is the same, the height adjustment is important for optimal comfort and posture, preventing any hunching over, straining or awkward seating positions. In addition to users adopting their preferred height, height adjustment will also save money for your school compared to purchasing multiple sets of chairs.

It is also cheaper to purchase a set of height adjustable chairs compared to a height adjustable table, the latter of which would also be impossible to optimise per individual. Additionally, these chairs are highly adaptable, allowing office workers to switch between multiple desks without sacrificing posture or comfort. Please use tables with a minimum height of 700mm to achieve BS EN 1729:2016 compliance than helps prevent pain and poor posture when working.

Other major benefits of these chairs are the ability to fully swivel, or glide across the floor using the 5 castors. The swivel function allows students to complete practical work, repeatedly turning to watch and learn from the teacher, then back to their desk to copy the instructions. This is ideal for IT classes when learning how to use software where simply watching and listening will not effectively teach the skills required. Office workers will also find the feature useful to switch between tasks, and can even switch between workspaces by gliding across the floor. This mobility is extremely useful for offices where resources are spread out or multiple desks are used, where repeatedly getting up and down from the chair would be impractical and unnecessarily exhausting. Please note this will be more effective and much safer on carpeted floors due to the friction provided.

The NP shell design is a particularly comfortable option for long periods of sitting due to the well-defined lumbar support back. It encourages users to sit with a healthy posture by closing the gap between the spine and seat, preventing back problems in both the present and future. This seat style is extremely popular, and will help save money compared to fabric swivel chairs that are optimised more for long workdays that exceed school hours.

Construction
The shell is constructed from polypropylene - an easy-cleaning, hard-wearing material that can withstand frequent use and heavy weight. Compared to fabric alternatives, NP chairs are much harder to damage or soil, and will retain their quality much longer particularly when used by school children. The plastic black base surrounds a robust metal pole that remains sturdy under heavy weight and supports a smooth swivel action, and uses 5 legs with castors for even weight distribution and durability.

The height is adjusted using a gas lift, making the action smooth and effortless for all ages and abilities to adjust. Unlike other chairs of this type, there is only one handle to prevent any unnecessary confusion or incorrect adjustments that can actually cause harm. With this construction, we can proudly offer a 5 year guarantee to help you shop with confidence.
