Just like its standard counterpart, the BS high chair is a minimal, flexible option that does not compromise when it comes to posture or comfort. With a sturdy frame that supports only an upper back shell, there is little chance of the chair becoming broken or misshapen, and greater suitability to students of all shapes and sizes. Like stools, the freedom of seating position and tall design of the high chair is perfect for music rooms, science labs, or art classrooms - yet the shell of a high chair offers a familiar comfort, lumbar support and style that stools cannot.

Design
Each chair has a 670mm seat height, making them ideal for Key Stage 4 and above, and are specifically designed for music, IT science, arts, crafts and design and technology classrooms where high seating is the norm. As such subjects can invite hours of seated work, high chairs help offer a flexible seating position and leg extension that helps students focus on their work rather than discomfort, and makes it easier to get up and down without causing disruption. When using a table with a height of 900mm, these chairs will provide optimal comfort and posture to prevent students from straining or hunching over whilst they work.

The BS high chair is famous for its unrivalled frame design, offering both durability and solid lumbar support for students of all shapes and sizes. This is because the frame supports the entire rear of the chair including the shell, limiting its movement to ensure good posture is enforced at all times, and preventing it from becoming misshapen after years of daily use. The shell itself is minimal, supporting only the upper back to give students the freedom to choose a comfortable position. Alternative high chairs base their designs on the average student, but for those who do not match this, only the BS chair provides the required support.

Although there are a lot less restrictions, the intelligent design still provides adequate support for a healthy posture in a classroom setting when seated for long periods, preventing back problems in present and future. There is also a foot rest incorporated into the frame to reduce pressure on the spine and reduce fatigue of the hip flexors.

There are 10 different shell colours available to choose the look that best suits your space, matches your school colours, or creates a colour code for each table.

Construction
Each BS chair is constructed from polypropylene - an easy-cleaning, hard-wearing material that can withstand frequent use and heavy weight. Considering the environments high chairs are typically used, polypropylene is the perfect choice for resisting damage from spillages or impact.

The anti-tilt leg style has been chosen to reduce the risk of accidents and prevent students from purposefully rocking. At a height where feet don’t always touch the floor, falling is much higher risk and much more damaging when it does occur, so safety is paramount - especially for the BS high chair that allows students to sit back. With anti-tilt legs however – and a sturdy frame that prevents reclining – students can confidently sit back without the risk of falling, allowing them to benefit from the same comfort and posture of the standard BS chair without compromise. In comparison to stools, a high chair with upper lumbar support allows students to adapt their sitting position to give fatigued muscles a break and in turn increase focus over long periods of time.
Also unlike alternatives, the BS chair frame supports the entire length of the undercarriage for a longer-lasting base that supports heavier weight over a long period of time. A stronger frame attachment and tamperproof fixings additionally ensure the minimal construction cannot be dismantled or broken easily, and as high chairs are likely to be picked up and moved around a lot due to their environment, this extra durability is extremely important.
