The Letters & Sounds Phase 3 Kit by Junior Learning assists the teaching of the next 26 phonic patterns – the second progression of letter sounds. It is useful for helping children learn how to read aloud, pronounce letters and whole words correctly, and begin to recognise patterns and basic rules of the English language. It is suitable for children aged 4+, with some of the contents recommended for age 5+.

The collection of resources includes six components, including 24 fiction and non-fiction readers, magnetic letters and magnet box, flip book, 6 phonics games, and word city landscapes. They combine letter, word and text level work with multi-sensory games, books and activities. The resources have all been specifically designed according to the synthetic phonics progression in Letters and Sounds. The kit is also all supplied with a Gratnells tray for easy storage.

Contents Included:
• Rainbow Phonics Word City Landscapes - Set of 6 vibrant magnetic learning landscape boards. Build words with Rainbow Phonics magnetic letters on the landscapes and follow the letter progression. Children work through each landscape to discover new letter sounds and words. Use the sound dots as cues and open the answer flaps to see if they are correct. Synthetic phonics, systematic progression and self-checking. Use with Rainbow Phonics Magnetic Letters. Landscape board dimensions: 21" x 10.6"
• Rainbow Phonics Magnetic Letters - Set of 84 magnetic foam letters with a unique in-built magnetic board. Children build new words on the magnetic board as they discover new letter patterns. A phonics progression teaching guide is included to introduce new letters week by week. Letters are colour-coded. Include vowels, consonants, digraphs, vowel digraphs, changeable vowel sounds, r-controlled and split digraphs. Approximately 4cm high.
• Spelling Flips - Spelling Flips is a double-sided flip stand that enables students to build new words. On one side are simple CVC words, and on the other are digraphs where two letters make one sound. Picture examples are provided to encourage word building.
• Letters & Sounds Phase 3 Set 1 Fiction - Phonics fiction readers introduce the next 22 letter sounds. Text uses only decodable regular words (according to the week by week progression) along with 'tricky words'. Phase 3 readers have a strictly controlled vocabulary that follows the letter-by-letter progression. The set includes 12 fiction readers, each with colourful illustrations.
• Letters & Sounds Phase 3 Set 1 Non-Fiction - Phonics non-fiction readers introduce the next 22 letter sounds. The text uses only decodable regular words (according to the week by week progression) along with 'tricky words'. Phase 3 readers have a strictly controlled vocabulary that follows the letter-by-letter progression. The set includes 12 non-fiction readers with clear photographic images.
• 6 Phonics Games - This set of educational games and activities is designed for teaching phonics and how different letter patterns make up words. Children will love playing with letter sounds and building words to win the game. Board games are printed double-sided to help save the environment. The design of these games follows a systematic synthetic phonics approach where this set makes up the second progression of letter sounds, following on from the 6 Letter Sound Games. Contains 2 board games, 2 matching games, 10-word puzzles, 16 dominoes, a spinner, counters, and a game guide with instructions.
