Perfect for drawing, colouring in and shading on paper, card or sugar paper, plastic pencil crayons are the best tool for achieving the crayon effect with a clean and accurate finish. YPO Plastic Pencil Crayons carefully balance the higher quality of premium options with the lower price of economy options to ensure the best value for your school; manufactured at just a few pence per piece, 100% satisfaction is assured with each and every YPO pencil crayon.

Plastic vs Wax Crayons
In comparison to standard wax crayons, plastic pencil crayons are harder in order to reduce breakage and enable a wider range of techniques involving variations in pressure. Due to their material, the crayons also will not melt in your hand, provide excellent rub-down and colour transfer, and reduce powdering and flaking to a minimum for a cleaner finished artwork.

Because of this higher quality and therefore higher cost, these pencil crayons are better suited to older or more serious artists who are able to use the crayons to their full potential. Although more expensive than wax alternatives, the durable, shatter-resistant pencil crayons will last a very long time and provide excellent value for money.

Pencil Body
Another benefit of pencil crayons is of course their familiar hexagonal pencil shape, which is much easier to control and doesn’t require users to learn a new grip or colouring technique. Again, this makes them better suited to older children who have developed the fine motor skills needed to hold and control a pencil with precision. The crayons can also be sharpened like a pencil for greater accuracy and versatility when colouring in finer details – ideal for graphic design, lettering, outlining and general colouring.
