Paint markers are superior to both pens and paint in the classroom for a variety of reasons. As POSCA is quite literally just paint in a pen, you can use all the same techniques and achieve the same look, but through the familiar pen-style that children will find easy to hold and control, and with a reduction in mess and hassle that comes with washing brushes or spilling paints and water pots.

With high-density coverage, paint markers eliminate unsightly white space that pens can leave behind, as well as brush or pen strokes. Children can use POSCA markers to build up confidence in different painting techniques before practising them with more traditional tools. Pigment-Rich Water-Based Ink

The colour also appears bright, matte and opaque whilst withstanding the passage of time thanks to its water-based formulation, which also makes it non-toxic, odourless and weather-resistant.

Unlike many alcohol-based alternatives, POSCA’s water-based pigment lives in the pen’s barrel rather than the nib. This allows your paint colour to be refreshed with every use, helping it last much longer, and allowing you to blend colours without spoiling them as with a pen. Instead, the nib works much like a paintbrush, and can be removed from the barrel and washed under a tap if needed.

Permanence
POSCA paint is erasable on most smooth non-porous surfaces, such as PVC, glass and metal, yet permanent and bleed-proof on porous surfaces such as paper, card, canvas, pebbles and cardboard. On fabric, the markers are semi-permanent, and the paint can be made permanent on the following:
• Terracotta – bake at 220°C for 45 minutes, then finish with clear non-toxic varnish
• Porcelain – bake at 160°C for 45 minutes, then finish with clear non-toxic varnish
• Glass – bake at 160°C for 45 minutes then finish with a clear non-toxic varnish
• Metal, stone, leather, plastic and wood – spray with clear non-toxic varnish

You can also protect creations such as paintings on canvas, customisation and decoration with a fixative varnish in order to protect your work for longer.

3mm and 5mm Bullet Tips
This pack contains a combination of the PC-3M and PC-5M variety, meaning some use 3mm bullet tips and some use 5mm bullet tips. 5mm is considered a medium tip with a line width of 1.8-2.5mm, producing clean and crisp yet bold lines with vibrant colour coverage. This versatile marker is suitable for a wide range of projects as a result – especially colouring – and is the go-to for amateurs and professionals alike.

Alternatively, the PC-3M is a universal tip that produces thinner, steady lines with solid colour ideal for outlining, lettering and precision work. The line width ranges from 0.9mm-1.3mm, and gives you the power to customise, decorate or mark a range of surfaces with legible results.
