YPO Sketching Pencils carefully balance the higher quality of premium options with the lower price of economy options to ensure the best value for your school. Manufactured at just a few pence per piece, 100% satisfaction is assured with each and every YPO own brand pencil

YPO Economy Sketching Pencils make an ideal introduction to the techniques of sketching and shading where the minute differences between basic and premium pencils are unnoticeable to beginners. Although premium pencils may be of higher quality, this comes with a higher cost that would be excessive when the emphasis is on mastering such techniques for the first time. For the average classroom, these pencils are the perfect tool for the job.

Although a beginner’s option, YPO Economy Sketching Pencils are still of exceptional quality, resisting breakage, requiring less sharpening, and providing a smooth, even laydown better than any economy alternative. Sketching, shading and blending will prove satisfying and rewarding for children as a result, with pencils staying sharper for longer during lengthy sessions.

Each pack contains 12 pencils graded 2B in hardness, meaning they have a slightly softer core than a standard HB pencil that school children use to write with. A softer core means more graphite is used, and a bolder, darker line is produced as a result. B graded pencils also smudge more and scratch less compared to H graded pencils.

As a result, 2B pencils – being more towards the centre of the hardness scale – are a great all-rounder for those using various techniques including loose sketching and shading as well as some writing or drawing of finer lines. 2B graphite also retains its point better than 3B-6B, resulting in a long-life pencil that is perfect for the varying demands of a classroom.
