Two companies with a passion for education have joined forces to help teachers across the UK. Purchasing organisation YPO and the online educational publisher Twinkl have signed an exclusive partnership agreement to develop new opportunities to support schools and educators.
The partnership combines YPO’s 45 years in education, supplying classrooms across the UK with everything from stationery to sports equipment, with Twinkl’s expertise in educational resources and its vast range of digital teaching materials used by educators worldwide. The collaboration will deliver a wide range of classroom solutions for schools, as well as discounts and giveaways, to further a shared mission to support teachers and learners.
In particular, the partnership will support teachers with a joint approach to the new Personal, Social and Health Education (PSHE) and Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) curriculums. Resources in YPOs online procurement product catalogue will be mapped with a PSHE scheme of work from Twinkl.
Other activity will focus on these topics and keeping children healthy and safe, as well as supporting schools as they look to meet their safeguarding obligations.
Joint partnership activity will begin with a focus on wellbeing for teachers in support of Twinkl’s newly launched (Sept 2019) Year of Wellbeing, a campaign designed to help create healthier and happier school communities. Throughout the year Twinkl will be sharing top tips, advice and inspiring stories to help teachers make their wellbeing a priority. Topics will include mindfulness, nutrition and self-care.
Martin Armytage, Head of Education Business from YPO, said: “Education is our heritage and so we are delighted to partner with Twinkl, an organisation that, like us, passionately supports the teaching community. Since 1974 we’ve been helping primary and secondary schools across the UK buy better with a range products and services. Partnering with Twinkl will bring more opportunities to extend this support.”
Leon Smith, Chief Customer Officer at Twinkl adds, “We are really excited about the partnership with YPO and hope to bring a range of solutions, opportunities and really useful resources to schools through this work.
“The materials we are creating are all based on the feedback we have received from the teaching community, who inform everything we do, and we will be continuing to engage with schools as we create them.
“We also hope to deliver even more Random Acts of Kindness with YPO this year, to show appreciation and thanks to the amazing schools and teachers we have across the UK.”
