Schools, nurseries and libraries can now download the new Roald Dahl Party Pack, thanks to a collaboration between YPO, Henkel, Puffin and the Roald Dahl Story Company.
YPO, the UK’s largest public sector buying organisation, together with Henkel, world-leaders in brands, technologies and innovations, including Pritt, have come together with the Roald Dahl Story Company to put together this year’s Party Pack ahead of the international Roald Dahl Day celebations on Thursday 13 September 2018.
The date marks the world’s number one storyteller’s birthday and for the last twelve years has received phenomenal success and and a huge following, with celebrations taking place across the globe. This year’s focus for Roald Dahl Day is ‘James and the Giant Peach’ and will be a celebration of the popular story and its themes to inspire and encourage children to be adventurous and explore the great outdoors.
The activity-crammed Party Packs, which can now be downloaded by teachers and parents at roalddahl.com/roalddahlday, feature a host of fun activities, challenges and quizzes to keep Roald Dahl fans entertained and inspired way beyond the day itself and to assist as a teaching tool.

Party-ready
Each pack comes with a structure to help teachers plan their day of Roald Dahl celebrations including activities for breakfast clubs, break times and morning and afternoon lessons. The packs also include special Roald Dahl Day party invitations, which hosts can use to round-up as many party goers as they can, as well as templates to make your very own party hats!
Inventive and inspiring activities
The Party Packs are bursting with activities and experiments for children to get hands-on with. From making your own musical grasshopper out of egg cartons, to quizzes on the bugs and the not-so-creepy crawlies which feature in JAMES AND THE GIANT PEACH”.
For the wordsmiths, the packs contain all sorts of word games including a a juicy wordsearch and a creative writing task centred around storytelling to help aid literacy skills and capture imaginations.
New for 2018, the Party Packs also include celebration suggestions for pre-schoolers, which centre around Roald Dahl’s THE ENORMOUS CROCODILE, which has now inspired two tasty interactive board-books for younger readers, published by Penguin Random House.”
Creative learning partnership
YPO has been working in collaboration with the Roald Dahl Story Company as its creative teaching sponsor since 2016. As well as the Party Packs for Roald Dahl Day, YPO help provide products ideas for a series of lesson plans inspired by the writer’s most celebrated titles such as MATILDA, JAMES AND THE GIANT PEACH and CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY.
