YPO has received a visit from Ed Balls, MP for Morley and Outwood and Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer, to meet the team and find out more about the organisation’s commitment to Yorkshire and future business growth plans.
On his first visit to the Yorkshire organisation on 6 June 2014, Mr Balls was introduced to YPO’s Managing Director, Simon Hill, who presented the company’s three year strategy for growth. As part of these plans, YPO has recently launched its new e-commerce website, to further align itself with the Government’s Digital Strategy of moving public services online to save costs. YPO is also expanding into new areas and sectors, helping even more organisations achieve better value for the taxpayer.
Mr Balls was given a tour of the premises and the opportunity to meet with some of the 500 members of staff, including those that are local to his district and long serving employees of up to 40 years.
YPO has given back £105 million to the public sector over its history, as all profits go back into the public purse.
Simon Hill, Managing Director at YPO, said: “We were delighted to welcome Mr Balls to YPO to meet our talented staff and learn more about our commitment to delivering cost-savings and best value to the public sector. As a business with a 40-year history in his local constituency, we were very proud to be able to showcase our investment in the region and highlight our future plans for growth.”
Mr Balls, MP for Morley and Outwood, commented: “It was fascinating to see behind the scenes and to meet the local team who make everything happen.”
