This year we will be in London again for the second World of Procurement event. Following on from our first World of Procurement conference, where we examined the impact of Brexit on procurement; this year we will be looking to engage, discuss, inform, inspire and debate how important enabling change is to the world of procurement. Change occurs daily and procurement professionals are a key agent in this and must deliver value to stakeholders.
This value can come through how we structure our procurements to the market place and how digital transformation and the public cloud can support the transformation of our operations.
We have a host of guest speakers, an innovation zone, a furniture display area, along with a YPO exhibition area where you'll be able to meet our in-house teams who have in depth knowledge of their categories and markets - come and find out how our solutions can support you.

Mario Marin - Head of US Sales - Government, Amazon Business
Mario Marin is the Head of US Sales for Government at Amazon Business (AB). AB helps governments, nonprofits and other public sector entities purchase using the Amazon.com experience with additional controls, methods of payments, data and analytics, eProcurement system integrations, and unique selection and pricing they require. Mario oversees all aspects of AB’s go-to-market sales strategy for public sector and non-profit customers in the US. He joined Amazon Business in 2017.
Prior to Amazon, Mario was the Vice President of Development for the United Way of Greater Los Angeles where he spearheaded development efforts for one of Los Angeles County’s largest nonprofits. In addition, Mario has also had a successful career in the corporate world, where he served in multiple leadership roles at W.W. Grainger – a leader in B2B Maintenance, Repair and Operations (MRO) distribution. His efforts there led to some of Grainger’s largest public sector and corporate contracts with customers as diverse as the State of California, FedEx and United Airlines.
He started his career as a Presidential Management Fellow working in the Clinton Administration and served on the staff of the United States Senate Appropriations Committee. He also worked in local government as an aide to two different Mayors for the City of Los Angeles. While in the Mayor’s Office, he implemented the City’s first on-line vendor database to help improve local contracting with socio-economically diverse suppliers (www.labavn.org) and rewrote the City’s cooperative purchasing policy.
John Fernau - Director, Fernau Solutions
John is a senior commercial leader, with extensive experience in public procurement and mega-programmes. Whilst the Head of Procurement of the Olympic Delivery Authority, John led the successful delivery of >400 procurements, and championed sub-contractor competition for SME supply chain access.
After the Games, John became the Commercial Director of the Home Office, bringing quality to its procurement, and delivery focus to its relationships, all in the wake of the MoJ tagging scandal.
In 2014 John left to provide bidding advice to SMEs and new entrants. He also provides procurement advice and in February began advising Parliament on their £3.5bn renovation programme.
