An 8-year-old schoolboy from Holmfirth has won a national arts competition to design the front cover of the YPO 2016 art catalogue.

Last year, we invited pupils across the country to let their imaginations run wild and submit pieces of artwork in our art competition.

After receiving over 150 entries from schools around the UK, first place was awarded to Stanley Robb from Wooldale Junior School in Holmfirth.

Stanley’s winning entry, depicting a rabbit in a forest, was selected from a shortlist of nine finalists. In addition to his picture being published on the front cover of the YPO 2016 catalogue, Stanley also received a £250 voucher for Wooldale School.

Simon Hill, Managing Director of YPO, said: “Stanley’s work really stood out amongst some very high quality entries. The picture demonstrates great skill and creativity. The judges all agreed that it was a worthy winner, which will make a fantastic feature on the front cover for our 2016 arts catalogue.”

Debbie Turner, School Business Manager at Wooldale Junior School, said: “We’re delighted that Stanley’s artwork has been recognised in a national arts competition. The school is excited to receive a copy of the YPO catalogue and see Stanley’s published artwork on the front cover.”

Congratulations to all our 2015 Finalists!
