The list of 100 books, selected by 500 teachers for the National Association for the Teaching of English and the TES magazine, named Charlie and the Chocolate Factory as the top read with Matilda also close behind in fourth place.
Although it’s debatable whether these are the best Dahl novels (my personal favourite is George’s Marvellous Medicine!), the list does confirm the writer again as one of our great authors.
