  • Enforcement industry: learning from lockdown
We've seen many changes within the enforcement industry in the last five months. These changes include many of our supplier Enforcement Agents furloughed, regulation changes and mandatory training updates.

  • What COVID-19 has meant for enforcement
Enforcement firms have faced unique challenges during this time and have been required to adapt flexibly to ensure safety and success. From the five-month ban on visits during the summer of 2020 to the implementation of industry-wide PPE equipment and training, it has been a period of change, but also stability and reassurance.

  • Why social value and enforcement go hand-in-hand
Corporate social responsibility has been a term used by businesses in every sector for many years, but social value intends to better represent modern holistic thinking. It considers how businesses can positively impact a local community as part of usual working practice.

  • The Debt Respite Scheme: Impact on enforcement
The Debt Respite Scheme (Breathing Space) guidance is set to be rolled out on Tuesday 4th May 2021 and the purpose of this initiative is to support those who genuinely cannot pay or would benefit from some additional time to tackle their debts.

    • Andrew James Enforcement Ltd
    • County Enforcement
    • GCMI Enforcement Group

Somerset West and Taunton Council had a requirement to award a new Enforcement Agent contract following the creation of the new council and the expiry of the two former council’s contracts. With the support of YPO we were able to utilise their DPS to quickly access a wide range of potential providers. The initial advice in respect of the complexities of this service area and the availability of the base specification, and the other supporting information, meant we could quickly draw up our requirements while ensuring they remained aligned to our particular needs. The support continued throughout the ITT process with advice being readily available at all stages. We received a good response to the ITT and were able to confidently award to two service providers.”

David Carpenter, Case Manager (Procurement) - Somerset West and Taunton Council

We would like to say a big thank you for the excellent advice, help, support and services provided. We found the YPO 953 dynamic purchasing framework guides, documentation and end-to-end process extremely informative and easy to follow throughout. It truly was exceptional working in collaboration with you in delivery of this key and essential service to The Pensions Regulator.”

    The Pensions Regulator

I have found that accessing the Enforcement Agency Services DPS has been relatively straightforward to use. The user guidance notes and templates have been very useful in preparing the mini-competition documents and explaining the process that is to be followed. It was very helpful having YPO run the competition via their tendering portal as it saved the Council having to set up numerous suppliers on our own tendering platform. Maria and Sarah have both been extremely helpful with reviewing documents, answering queries promptly and managing the process from start to finish. I would have no hesitation in recommending other contracting authorities to utilise the DPS for their enforcement agency requirements. ”

Andrew Patten, Category Manager - Lancashire County Council
