What is drawing?This day will be a mixture of theory and a diverse range of practical activities, all of which will strengthen the use of drawing in your school and encourage you to become part of the Big Draw Festival and network. We will also learn about (and practice drawing) as a cross curricular focus. Susan will share Big Draw activities from across the world, from Huddersfield to Hanoi!You will be encouraged to organise a Big Draw in your own schools and communities and look at logistics for this. Susan Coles is an arts, creativity and educational consultant who is well known across the UK and beyond as an advocate for the visual arts. Susan is past President of the National Society for Education in art and design and a world council member for the International Society for Education through Art. Susan is an associate and champion of the Big Draw and also a national Big Draw Awards winner, with her north east based art teachers network (2015 and 2016). She has organised and facilitated Big Draw activities all over the UK, and as far away as Vietnam, and South Korea, and was also co-facilitator of the national TEA (Thinking Expression and Action) Drawing CPD programme 2012-2014. Susan is a co-founder of the national Sketchbook Circle project. She also acts as organiser and secretary to the All Party Parliamentary Group on Art, Craft and Design in Education.
