Only 16 places available.Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is an internationally recognised training course, designed to teach people how to spot the signs and symptoms of mental ill health and provide help on a first aid basis. This course will teach you how to identify when a young person may be experiencing a mental health issue and how to guide them to get the help they need.Hester will facilitate a mix of presentations, group discussions and workshop activities. You’ll be provided with a Youth MHFA manual to take back to your school. Upon completion of the course, you’ll get a certificate to say you are a Youth MHFA Champion and take away a free handbook.Learning Outcomes:•An understanding of common mental health issues and how they can affect young people.•The ability to spot signs of mental ill health in young people and guide them to a place of support.•Knowledge and confidence to advocate for mental health awareness.•Gain skills to support positive wellbeing.Please note the times of this course are 9.15am until 5.30pm..

Hester BingeThroughout her teaching career, Hester has had an interest in well-being and mindfulness to reduce stress, anxiety and other mental health issues that are barriers to teaching and learning. She’s been involved in the design and delivery of several well-being programmes in schools and behavioural units. As a behavioural manager, she has used techniques such as guided meditations and breathing to successfully help children cope. She is also a Mental Health England First Aid Trainer.
