Course Details

This practical course considers the realities of working outside and how to make literacy come to life and become part of your outdoor provision. We’ll consider emergent reading, writing and creating opportunities that facilitate talking and listening outside. This approach is suitable for all oudoor spaces, whether you have a natural haven or concreate jungle.

•Take away practical ideas about how to integrate literacy in the outdoors.
•Understand how to use free of low cost resources to develop a literacy friendly outdoor space.
•Learn how to take a play-based approach that begins with the children’s interests and needs.
•The ability to audit outdoor literacy opportunities in your setting as a baseline for further improvements.
