Communication and language is a primary area of learning and development in the early years sector, which has a direct impact on children’s literacy skills. But what does communication friendly early years provision look like?

This course will look in detail at the early years outcomes for communication and language, focussing on teaching skills that help you to effectively support children in this area of learning in the EYFS.

Kathy will provide you with a range of exciting and stimulating activities for babies and young children which promote communication and language through both child initiated and adult led learning.

Kathy Bigio
Kathy has worked in the early years sector for almost 30 years and is passionate about meeting the needs of children based on her extensive experience nationally and her in depth knowledge of effective practice. She was a senior teacher advisor for early years for nine years, during which time she delivered training courses and worked in schools to improve outcomes for children, advising practitioners and senior managers. In September 2011 Kathy established an independent training company delivering EYFS training.
