This hands-on, practical maths course will explore the key skills of questioning and how this facilitates learning. We’ll explore ways to support pupils’ learning using appropriate resources, models and images.

Throughout the day, Hazel will incorporate the progression and development of calculation. She will also look at ways to support children in understanding number and place value.

She is passionate about maths teaching and learning and is particularly interested in developing mathematical talk and children’s thinking and reasoning through questioning and structured activities. Hazel believes in a hands-on approach to all her training in a bid to ‘bring maths to life’ for teachers and children.
