Our Apprenticeships

Your apprenticeship will last 2 years and will include both nationally recognised qualifications and on-the-job training, as well as the opportunity to partake in our Apprenticeship Pathway – a programme of workshops designed to complement the experience you will gain through working with us. You will be working towards a Level 3 Customer Service Specialist qualification.


Working in a lively office environment as part of a team, our Customer Service Apprentice provides support to our Customer Service and our Sales teams, which may include activities such as telephony support dealing with queries from our customers, making outgoing sales calls, recording information on customer sales activities, reception duties, postal services, and preparation of materials for meetings and events.

What We Need from You

In this role you will be expected to deal with customers both face to face and over the phone, therefore you must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and have a confident and professional manner. You need to be very customer focused with a proactive approach to problem solving in order to resolve customer queries.

You will be required to work well as part of a team and demonstrate a positive attitude. You must have good IT skills and be highly organised with excellent attention to detail.

You will ideally have previous experience of working with customers, although this is not essential, but above all the commitment to study and work at the same time.  

You need 4 GCSE’s or equivalent at Grade A* to D or 9 to 4, including English Language and Mathematics.    


Apprenticeships are available from age 16.  Students awaiting exam results can still apply, please state predicted grades on your application form.

The Important Bits

As an Apprentice with YPO, you will earn the minimum wage rather than an apprentice wage. This means that you will earn £8,913 in your first year if you’re under 18; £12,656 if you are 18 to 20; £16,128 if you are 21 to 22 or £17,189 if you are 23 and over. You will work Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week. 


Closing date for applications is Sunday 20th June, with interviews taking place from week commencing 28th June. Employment will commence Monday 2nd August 2021.
