An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Category Buyer to join the Food team. Working within a team to establish and re-new contracts across the food sector; working closely with customers and suppliers to ensure that YPO has a competitive, cost effective and customer focused food service offer from our stock and framework offers.
Reporting into the Business Manager/Head of Trading; the post-holder will ensure that the food procurement activities are aligned with the business needs and category strategy – engaging with the food marketplace to deliver our various offers – on time and with clear benefits to YPO and our customer base.
Our food business offering is changing and we are expanding our offers to ensure that our business is fit for the future needs of our customers and to meet our business strategy. Operating across food stock and frameworks – working together with the whole team – delivering quantifiable outcomes, effectively and on time.
In addition, the post-holder will have excellent communication skills and possess drive and enthusiasm to deliver best value within the category and can think on their feet when challenging situations arise.
The post-holder will be a studying member or a member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply or appropriate professional institute or have relevant experience.
The Role Purpose:
As a Category Buyer within the business the post holder will work closely with the Business Manager/Head of Trading and colleagues in the development of procuring products and services, through market research to ensure that they are fit for purpose and easily accessible by both customers and suppliers.
The post will focus on continuous development and growth through proactive management of key stakeholder groups including a very varied customer and supplier base.
